Bjørn Erik Larsen works as a freelance photographer based in Bergen, Norway. Assignments are divergent between editorial and commercial with a broad base of clients. Most of the commercial photography is done at location, while the main portion of the editorial stuff is commissioned by Bergens Tidende.

When I started working as a photojournalist in Bergen 15 years ago I worked exclusively for the paper Verdens Gang. As the years went by I took more and more magazine work and commercial assignments. As of today I`m split down the middle, a combination that supplies a comfortable mix of predictability and variation.

Digital imaging became a integrated part of my workflow early on, and skills within photoshop and other digital editing tools has had a high priority. In todays mediaworld, the convergence of still image, sound, video and meta-information array sorting has given us unprecedented possibilities. Possibilities I hope to explore to the limit. At the same time, the bottom line is still that all the hightech in the world can`t make a poor picture good – and the pictures are after all the the main story.

On my site I hope to show both portfolio galleries, pictures that for some reason never ended up in print/online (hopefully not because they were bad), some multimedia and hopefully some stuff about how visual storytelling is developing in the future.
